Local Rules.
A . Beyond and wall, fence, hedge or line of white stakes defining the boundary of the course.
B. Within or beyond the area bounded by the fence and white stakes surrounding the farmhouse and outbuildings.
C. On or beyond the car park, Clubhouse & Practice Putting Green.
D. Beyond the posts and chain fence bounding the clubhouse and practice putting green. (Note: The posts alone defines the boundary, the chain is a moveable obstruction)
2. Penalty Areas (Rule 17)
A. Penalty areas are defined by red posts or red lines
B. 9th Hole: When a ball is found or it is known or virtually certain to have come to rest in the penalty area tot he left and back of the 9th green, the player may take relief under rule 17.1d or as an extra relief option, take relief by dropping the ball within 2 club lengths of the nearest blue 'dropping zone' markers.
C. 10th hole: When a ball is found or it is known or virtually certain to have come to rest in the penalty area to the back of the 10th green the player may take relief under rule 17.1d or as an extra relief option, take relief by dropping the ball within 2 club lengths of the blue 'dropping zone' marker.
D. 12th Hole: When a ball is found or it is known or virtually certain to have come to rest in the penalty area to the right and back of the 12th green the player may take relief under rule 17.1d or as an extra relief option, take relief by dropping the ball within 2 club lengths of the blue 'dropping zone' marker.
3. Immovable obstructions (Rule 16.1)
A. All artificially surfaced roads, paths and bridges.
B. All shelters and huts.
C. Staked trees, other than those protected with rabbit bands (Note: bark chippings are an integral part of the course)
D. All fixed sprinkler heads, drainage grids and the like are immovable obstructions and relief from interference from them can be obtained under rule 16.1a. In addition, if such an obstruction is on or within 2 club lengths of the putting green of the hole being played intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may obtain relief, without penalty, as follows. If the ball lies on the putting green but not in a penalty area and is within 2 club lengths of the intervening obstruction then relief may be taken under rule 16.1a.
4. Abnormal Ground Conditions (Rule 16.1)
a. All flower beds (but excluding the cultivated area to the left & back of the 11th) are No Play Zones from which play is prohibited.
The player must take relief under Rule 16.1f.
Note the furrows running parallel to the line on the fairway on the 7th hole, Predominantly past the pond are NOT drainage lines.
5. Permanent Power Lines and Cables (Rule 14.6)
a. 5th Hole; If it is known or virtually certain that a player's ball hit a power line or tower or a wire or pole supporting a power line during the play of the 5th hole, the stroke does not count. The player must play a ball without penalty from where the previous stroke was made under Rule 14.6b,
